HOWTO completely remove grub

In case you run into the situation when you have to install Windows 2000 or XP on a harddisk that was formerly occupied by linux and grub you'll have to deinstall and remove grub in order to startup Windows without errors.

The Problem is, that for some reason the old 

fdisk /mbr

trick doesn't work anymore.

Instead, boot a Windows 2000 installation cd and execute 

fixmbr

for that matter.
